Hi there!

Welcome to our website. We are Charlotte and Marieke from Amsterdam and we love Fashion! And by fashion we mean fashion the way it’s supposed to be, as fashion has a story!

Fashion reacts to changes in society. And we are very happy with the upcoming coolness of fair and eco friendly products. People are getting more and more into sustainability, and so are we!

That is why we are able to present you the coolest brands which all have a story to tell. All of the products we offer are created with respect for people and planet But without ever compromising on fashion and style!

During our travels together we were always fantasizing about having our own concept store. And we thought it was time to show the world that green and fair products can be cool. A fair concept store was born.

You might also be interested in the origin of our name Charlie + Mary...? Well Charlotte became Charlie since we have called her Charlie since we where studying together, so that was easy. She is more of a Charlie than a Charlotte actually (don’t tell her mum though). Marieke, a very simple dutch name seemed to be difficult to pronounce in English. So when we where living in Sydney we decided to translate her name to Mary. So she became a bit of a Mary as well. And there it was the name of our fair concept store: Charlie + Mary.

We are learning about new sustainable techniques in the fashion industry every day. And we discover new and cool sustainable brands all the time. This is what makes us love our job! We’re not there yet though. For sure you will find products which are not 100% fair and 100% eco friendly.
But we we’re getting closer all the time!!

We will keep you updated in our search for cool sustainable brands and what is being done in the fashion industry to reach that 100% or to get really close. Check our weblog and know that any input is welcome and can get us one, or maybe a few steps forward. So do not hesitate to leave your comments.
We hope you love our items as much as we do! Take good care of them and think of the story behind them, which makes you love your item even more! The creative design process, the brand’s philosophy, the crafts men and women who made it, the cotton grown by a farmer in another part of the world etc.........
