A homeless person in the tram with a very old paper bag inspired Ramon Middelkoop when he developed this fashionable bag. The paper bag was extremely dirty but kept it's nice shape. Reason enough to develop a sustainable variant made of ecological tanned leather. My paper bag is produced by the Fair Trade certified Crafts Resource Center in Calcutta, India. The craftsmen and women are from the lowest casts in Indian society. The more paperbags we sell the better these craftsmen and women will be able to make a living on the long term.
